Miranda Kerr has uploaded an Instagram image of the first page of the first chapter of 900-odd page tome, Shantaram, with the caption, “What a captivating novel! #Shantaram ❤”
We present it without comment:
Katy Perry prayed for her assets
So, pop singer Katy Perry has revealed that she used to pray for big breasts. She told lad’s mag GQ, “I lay on my back one night and looked down at my feet, and I prayed to God. I said, ‘God, will you please let me have boobs so big that I can’t see my feet when I’m lying down?’ ” At age 11, “God answered my prayers… I had no clue they would fall into my armpits eventually.”
She also said she believes in aliens but not plastic surgery. Oh, and she brought up the whole “I’m not a feminist” thing again.
Anyway, let’s just say there are a lot of teenagers on the internet who believe in God, now.
Margot Robbie talks about sex with Leo di Caprio
The ex-Neighbours star has opened up about the ah, logistics, of her sex scenes with Leonardo di Caprio in The Wolf of Wall Street.
“I was actually completely clothed – underwear, bra, skirt, top, everything on. He had his shirt on and his pants pulled down a bit, and they have modesty patches, so from memory he was wearing one of them too,” she said.

Actually further to my other comment about it being encouraging that Miranda Kerr shows a more intellectual side if herself, I just read the first paragraph from that book and I found it captivating too, so I can understand why she posted it
So we have a model who for once is not talking about something inane like cellulite, or going on about how being a mother is the best thing in the world (because the only things that are acceptable for a female celeb to talk about are body image, fitness, diet, relationships or the joys of motherhood) turns out she is reading a book and one that appears to be hard going, and we are going to criticise. I for one am grateful for her encouraging her followers to think about reading or more intellectual pursuits.
So she has taken a photo of the first page, where was she supposed to take the photo, in the middle of the book or the last page, which somehow proves she has read the book and therefore ruins the story for us? Maybe she thought the first page would captivate people into reading it then get them hooked. Or maybe it was just a random choice because she didn't spend her day worrying what everyone would think if she posted "gee I like this book - here's a photo".
I suppose the insinuation is being a model she is too shallow and dumb to have read a book but is trying to pretend to be some serious intellectual or she is being paid to promote a book that she hasn't actually read. All of this are possibilities but please do we have to immediately jump to these conclusions.
Maybe she has always liked to read or maybe she wants to change and not just be known as a vacuous pretty girl, it's called growth and maturity, and I for one find it encouraging and refreshing.
