New Kids on the Block aren't kids anymore. So where are they now?

New Kids on the Block were one of the biggest boy bands of the late '80s and throughout the '90s, paving the way for the likes of the Backstreet Boys and Take That.

Low and behold, the members of the hit band are certainly not the 'new kids' anymore. New Kids on the Block comprised Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood, and brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight.

They had multiple number-one songs, including the likes of 'Step by Step' and 'Please Don't Go Girl'. Ahhh the nostalgia.

Since their first album in 1986, the band's music has connected with a huge generation of fans, even beyond when the band spilt in 1994 and then reunited from 2007. From families to acting careers - and a few controversies in between - here's what the lives of the New Kids on the Block look like now.

Donnie Wahlberg now.

Best known for being part of the Wahlberg family with Mark Wahlberg for a sibling, Donnie Wahlberg ventured into acting after leaving New Kids on the Block.

His first acting role was in the 1996 film Bullet, alongside the late rapper Tupac Shakur. Other roles for Wahlberg over the years included Ransom, The Sixth Sense, Band of Brothers and the Saw movies.

The role that he's probably best known for is playing Detective Danny Reagan for more than 14 seasons on the American police drama series Blue Bloods, starring Tom Selleck.

He has also been performing lately as part of the New Kids on the Block reunion concerts, and is a co-owner in the Wahlburgers franchise. Recently he reflected on the success of the band, saying it was a surprise to all of them.

"We have the best fans. They've stuck by me forever. We still tour every year, travel all over the world, and we're more successful - at least spiritually now and with our fans - than we were all those years ago," he said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Since 2014, Wahlberg has been married to Jenny McCarthy - an American actor, model, and television personality who is best known for her career with Playboy and being named Playmate of the Year.

They had a reality TV series together in 2015 called Donnie Loves Jenny, and there were a couple of seasons.

Wahlberg has two sons from his previous marriage to Kimberley Fey, while McCarthy has a son with ex-husband John Mallory Asher.

"Besides being the best wife that I could have ever imagined having, she's also the best step mum and mother," he told Us Weekly. "She's a great partner and to simplify it, having someone to build traditions with my children and it being Jenny is probably the thing I'm most grateful for. I won the lottery."

Joey McIntyre now.

McIntyre has had quite the career!

Following the band parting ways, McIntyre made his acting debut in the film The Fantasticks, which was based on the long-running off-Broadway musical. He continued writing and releasing songs ever since - someone solo, some as part of the New Kids on the Block reunion, and other as collaborations.

Broadway is where he really made his mark with critics though.

He had a leading role in the iconic musical Wicked, playing Fiyero. Recently he returned to Broadway as the character Dr. Pomatter in the musical Waitress. This year he has been touring solo across America and parts of Europe as part of his solo music career.

Recently though he's been chatting about New Kids on the Block through the press, saying he and his bandmates are all "one big family".

"New Kids on the Block has been such a blessing for so many reasons. We've been through so much together, and our fans are our family too," he said. "The craziest thing is that we took 15 years off, and get back together and now we're performing arenas. We have a lot of fun."

McIntyre has three tweens with his wife Barrett Williams

The couple married in 2003 - they met when Williams who was a real estate agent was showing McIntyre a house, and they got on "like a house on fire" he said.

Danny Wood now.

A significant amount of Wood's social content these days is his fitness, body building and recipe videos, where he features healthy and high-protein meal ideas. Funny enough - he has his own sauce range that goes with guacamole.

He also runs a foundation called Remember Betty in honour of his late mum, the foundation raising funds that provide direct financial assistance to breast cancer patients and survivors.

Wood was married for a few years before divorcing in 2006, that marriage resulting in him becoming a dad of three children. Aside from his fitspo content creation, Wood still performs regularly with his old boy band.

"We like to work together and we like to have fun together, so it's definitely a plus for us. And when there's issues in the group and there's struggles, it makes it easier because we're all friends," he said on HLN. "We're older, we all have our own families, it's nice."

Jonathan Knight now.

Jonathan Knight was the first member to leave New Kids on the Block before their official 1994 split.

He worked as a real estate investor after finishing up with the band, rarely making public appearances. He later shared that a lot of his decision to leave the spotlight came down to his anxiety.

Years later in 2008, Knight felt ready to return to performing, and began singing with New Kids on the Block again.

Along with performing, Knight has done a lot of reality TV - from competing in The Amazing Race, to hosting the television show Farmhouse Fixer, in which he restores old New England farmhouses for clients.

"When I was a kid my dad was a carpenter, and he would drag me to work and I hated it. Then I got older, I really started to appreciate what he did. In '94 when New Kids [on the Block] split up, I started flipping houses," he said to Fox News

Knight has also spoken recently about the time his sexuality was shared with the world, without his consent.

In 2009, the National Enquirer published an article from Knight's ex-boyfriend who outed him as gay. Knight later said he had felt "pressure" to keep his sexuality under wraps during the height of the band's fame.

Knight said to CNN this year that the group's manager knew he was gay, but urged him to keep his sexuality a secret. He says the manager told him that if anyone found out, his and the band's career would be over and that Sony would lose a lot of money.

"It was just so much pressure. Looking back, that's a lot of pressure to put on somebody who is just trying to figure out the world themselves."

At the time that he was publicly outed, Knight said in a statement: "I have lived my life very openly and have never hidden the fact that I am gay. Apparently the prerequisite to being a gay public figure is to appear on the cover of a magazine with the caption 'I am gay'. I apologise for not doing so if this is what was expected!"

Since 2008, Knight has been in a relationship with Harley Rodriguez. In 2016, the pair got engaged and later married.

"It's great," Knight told ET. "We've been together 14 years. It's nice to find love. We found each other later on in life, which makes it even better. We both understand each other."

Jordan Knight now.

Last but certainly not least we have Jordan Knight.

In 1999, Knight made a solo comeback to music by releasing his first solo single, as well as an album. In 2014, Knight then teamed up with Backstreet Boy's Nick Carter for the release of the album Nick & Knight. The duo toured throughout the fall of that year in support of the album.

Out of all the New Kids on the Block members, Knight has certainly led the quietest life.

He has been married to his wife since 2004, and they have two sons and live in Massachusetts. A couple of years ago, Knight also became a partner in an Italian restaurant called Novara in Massachusetts.

Rarely doing interview, Knight recently said on Boston Radio that he still gets recognised often.

"It really is an honour for people to recognise me, and 99 per cent of the time it's nice. Early on '88 when we had just hit the scene, it was crazy and a little overwhelming. People are calmer now, say hello and just take a selfie. I'm cool with that."
