Paris Hilton is being trolled again, and it proves mums just can't win.

Paris Hilton has lived most of her life in the public eye.

As the great-granddaughter of Hilton Hotels founder Conrad Hilton, her childhood was a flurry of extravagant family soirees and vacations across the globe. A born socialite with a high-flying pedigree, it wasn't long before Paris reached worldwide stardom when she was the subject of Fox reality series The Simple Life in 2003 at just 22 years old.

In the decades that followed, we've known many different seasons of Paris. There's been popstar Paris. We've watched movie star Paris. She's been a popular DJ for many years. We've even seen her don an apron in a cooking series.

And in 2023, she entered her mum era. At the beginning of last year, Paris welcomed her first child with husband Carter Reum — a little boy named Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum on January 16. While the birth (via a surrogate) came as a shock to many members of the public, Paris later told Harpers Bazaar this was entirely intentional given her life in the spotlight.

"My entire life has been so public," she said. "I've never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves."

Less than a year later, it was announced that Paris and Carter had added to their family with the safe arrival of their daughter London — again via surrogate — in November, 2023.

Much like her many other business and personal endeavours, Paris has had to navigate motherhood in the public eye. As we all know, being a celebrity opens you up to a world of criticism and public commentary thanks to the internet. And it was in October 2023 that people online began making comments about the size of Paris' nine-month-old son Phoenix's head.

In response, Paris released a statement:

"Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else's for that matter, is unacceptable."

"This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe. I've worked hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return."

She also spoke about the challenge of not knowing how much to share of her son on social media.

"If I don't post my baby, people assume I'm not a great mother and if I do post him, there are some people who are cruel and hateful. I'm a proud working mom and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic," she wrote.

It seems she has continued to grapple with more of the same since welcoming her daughter, London.

If you look at any of Paris' recent Instagram posts featuring her son Phoenix, you'll see she is now being trolled for not  also sharing photos of her daughter.

"How strange, she doesn't put the baby in family photos and gatherings," wrote one user.

"Where is your baby girl? You only show your son why something just doesn’t seem right," wrote another.

"It’s kinda creepy…where’s London?" read another comment.

And hundreds more, who continued with the same line of questioning, the same probing and the same criticism.

Paris' husband has responded by explaining why London isn't present in their online photos.

"Not quite ready to share her [with] the world but she's adorable and looks just like her mamma," wrote Carter.

And seriously, can you blame them? After what they endured after sharing photos of their son, it's entirely understandable they'd want to protect their little girl's identity for as long as possible.
