I had a very similar story and had my hysterectomy when I was 42. My ovaries were left intact. I had 10 great years without my period and  then menopause hit. I found out the hard way that women who have an early hysterectomy often suffer badly with menopause. Mine was a living hell which lasted 6 long years so I caved and went on to HRT which gave me my life back. How menopause would work for me was never discussed prior to surgery so I would suggest any woman planning to have their womb removed ask the question before hand.

A few years ago I went to a cosmetic surgeon, yes a doctor, for filler in my marionette lines. I had been seeing this doctor for a couple of years for Botox. I was delighted with the finished look but not the permanent bruising that I was left with. To this day I have two patches of broken veins and capillaries where the filler was injected. Not so noticeable with makeup but highly obvious without.I would love to get rid of those lines again but doubt I am

game.

Tinned tomato soup and toast is my ultimate comfort food. I grew up with it as my mother was not much of a cook but she sure knew how to open a tin of soup.

My first job as an office junior paid $12.90 per week ($676 p. a) and now at 67 and close to retirement I earn $90K p.a. Surprising I lived quite well on those low wages.

Unfortunately this situation just gets worse. I am 68 years old and have a professional career and still work full time. At work I am respected and acknowledged but step out of the office and it’s a different story even though I believe I am fashionable and well presented. Recently I went to buy new carpets and the muppet of a salesman told me to come back with my husband indicating that he thought I didn’t have the ability or permission to purchase an expensive item. I was so disgusted I didn’t even bother to give him a telling off and just walked out of the store. He wasn’t worth my time. Being ignored is common place in retail stores especially fashion retailers, yet I have a high disposable income. Go figure!
