From MasterChef to her own cooking show: Here's exactly what a day in Sarah Todd's life looks like.

It's safe to say Sarah Todd fits more into an average day than many of us do in a week.

Australia first fell in love with the chef, author, TV host, and entrepreneur when she appeared on MasterChef Australia in 2014 and ever since then, she has continued to build an empire via her love of cooking.

The mother-of-one's day usually begins around 5.30am, and she's established a routine where she is able to wake up naturally. A trick she finds gives her the energy to get through a busy workday.

"I've actually installed a lighting system in my bedroom that slowly brings light in during the morning, which helps me to not set an alarm," the Wanderlust Ambassador and Wellness Activist told Mamamia. "With our sleep cycles we know we can go into a deeper sleep at that time, so it's nice to have the routine.

"The first thing I like to do when I get up is stretch, it's something that's really benefited my body and has made me feel strong," she continued. "I definitely love my coffee, so I've also got my coffee machine set on a timer. It starts heating up at 5.30am so it's ready for me first thing in the morning. I love enjoying a piccolo in the morning with almond milk."

Sarah is the mother of 12-year-old Phoenix, who wakes up around 6.30am each morning, and she likes to have breakfast ready for them to share before they head out of the house.

"I like to have a smoothie in the morning," said Sarah. "And my son's favourite breakfast is things like roti and scrambled eggs."

"I also recommend Wanderlust Lemon Balm, a cold-pressed liquid herbal extract traditionally used in Western Herbal Medicine, which helps to support gut health."

"I try to jump onto my emails and get some things done in the hour before Phoenix wakes up, because after breakfast it's about packing his lunch and getting in the car to drive to school. We love our music in the morning, we always crank some songs in the car and sing along. We're loving the band Imagine Dragons at the moment."

The next part of Sarah's day can go in a variety of different directions, depending on which projects she is turning her attention to that day.

"Sometimes I have content to shoot in my home or I am at home working on new recipes or working on my cooking show," Sarah said. "I've also changed my routine around how I exercise these days. A year ago I started tennis lessons and now I do that once a week. I also like to play golf or do yoga sessions.

"So just depending on what day it is and how much work I have on, I like to weave those activities into my routine where I can."

"For lunch I like to make a really yummy salad and load it with things like rocket, spinach, and chickpeas for some protein," she continued. "Always lots of veggies in there like cucumber and tomato. I find that really keeps me energised throughout the day.

"To help maintain those energy levels and help your body adapt to the stress experienced throughout the day, I recommend Wanderlust Siberian Ginseng, which is based on traditional Western Herbal Medicine."

No matter what she has on during the day, the co-host of the Hungry TV show on 10play and co-founder of Hot Toddy Chilli Sauce switches back into mum mode at the end of the day.

"Then it's time to pick my son up from school," Sarah said. "He does a few different extracurricular activities and so I often take my laptop with me while he does those.

"When we come home, we take a bit of time to relax and then he starts his homework while I make dinner. We have a lot of different dishes we like to make, but one of our favourites is a fish curry with rice.

"I also find myself working a bit at night because a lot of my work is not only just in Australia, it's also in India. So I could be getting late-night calls and emails from India with the time difference.

"I think it's important not to do too much work late at night though," she continued. "I need to just wind down and feel relaxed before going to bed.

Sarah's trick to ensure she can have a relaxing night is actually to pick up a pen.

"I always make time to do my skincare routine at night," Sarah said.

"This is also when I think it’s easiest to weave in your evening supplements like Wanderlust Sleep Botanicals, which contains the beautiful traditional Western Herbal Medicine flower California Poppy that helps relax the mind, so you can start to really switch off setting yourself up for a refreshing sleep."

"I'm also a really big note-maker. I like to summarise things that have happened during the day and set out what I need to do for the next day. Writing is how I plan my day.

"Then my son and both do some reading, after he goes to sleep I get ready for bed and try to go to sleep by about 9.30pm. I am a big fan of podcasts and listen to shows like On Purpose with Jay Shetty as I go to sleep.

Then the next day, Sarah Todd wakes up and does it all again.
