The 7 questions we need answered in The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2.

Grab your bikinis and sunscreen, we’re heading back to the beach house.

While it might be the middle of winter in Australia, Prime Video is bringing us season two of the hit coming-of-age dramedy, The Summer I Turned Pretty.

The second season, which premieres on July 14, promises even more multigenerational drama, cute romance, and heart wrenching plot twists.

Watch: The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 official trailer, coming to Prime Video on July 14. Post continues after video.

But first, a quick refresher. The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on The New York Times bestselling book series by Jenny Han. The story follows Isabel "Belly" Conklin (newcomer Lola Tung), who is spending the holidays with her mother Laurel (Jackie Chung) and brother Steven (Sean Kaufman) at the beach house of her mother's oldest friend Susannah (Rachel Blanchard).

Also staying at the beach house are Susannah's two teenage sons Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Christopher Briney), who have always treated Belly like a little sister. But the summer she turns 16, everything changes.

Cue an epic love triangle for the ages!

In the first season, Belly experienced her first love, her first heartbreak and so much more. More than just a coming-of-age story, The Summer I Turned Pretty is a multigenerational drama about female friendship, first loves, and second chances.

The season one finale left us with a cliffhanger, so we can’t wait to see how things pan out in season two.

Here are 7 questions we need answered in The Summer I Turned Pretty season two:

1. Will Belly end up with Conrad or Jeremiah? Or neither?

Ah, the big one!

As we discovered in season one, Belly always had a big ole’ crush on Conrad.

She hoped this would be the summer when he finally noticed her, but when she turned up to the beach house, Conrad was distant and weird. Belly went on to date a local guy named Cam and on to explore her connection with Conrad’s little brother, Jeremiah.

But it was Conrad who always had her heart.

When Jeremiah didn’t turn up to the debutante ball after finding out about his mother’s cancer returning, Conrad stepped in to escort Belly to the ball. The finale ended with Belly and Conrad finally confessing their feelings to each other - which they both thought were unrequited - and sharing a kiss.

Cute!

But does this mean Conrad and Belly are a couple now? Or will Belly choose Jeremiah instead? We’ve seen enough TV shows to know the path to true love is never easy.

Which leads us to…

2. What happened between Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah?

In the trailer (which you can watch above), we find out that Conrad and Jeremiah are no longer talking to Belly, and Steven blames Belly for this rift.

So what on earth happens between the three teenagers to destroy a lifelong friendship and what will it take to repair the rift?

3. Are Steven and Shayla going to stay together?

Belly wasn’t the only member of the family who experienced a coming-of-age love story during the first season.

Her brother Steven also had a very eventful summer. At first, Steven found himself in a love triangle, before he realised Shayla was the girl for him.

So will Steven and Shayla stay together once they leave Cousins Beach and go back to their normal lives?

4. Will Steven be able to afford college?

In the first season, Steven was busy falling in love with Shayla. But another part of his story revolved around money.

Unlike most of the kids in Cousins Beach, Steven had to work to save money to go to college.

He was doing a great job of saving until he gambled all of his summer earnings away while trying to keep up with the guys Shayla goes to school with.

So will Steven still be able to go to Princeton?

5. What will happen between Laurel and Cleveland?

Sparks certainly didn’t fly when Laurel and Cleveland met for the first time.

But over the first season, the pair connected and became closer. Cleveland even asked Laurel to go to a book convention with him. She said no because of everything that was happening with Susannah and the kids.

But will Laurel and Cleveland be able to pick up where they left off in season two?

6. Will Laurel finally start writing her new book?

In the first season, Laurel was supposed to be working on her new book.

But with everything that was happening with Susannah and the kids, she got little writing done.

So will Laurel finally write her new book in the second season and will it be inspired by the events of the summer?

7. Will they save the beach house?

In the season two trailer, we learn that after Susannah’s death, the beach house is put up for sale.

But then Belly, Steven, Jeremiah and Conrad hatch a plan to save it.

So will the kids save the beach house or will the events of last summer mean that their summers are never the same again?

We desperately hope they find their way back to each other.
